The series of attacks by an infamous group of terrorists by the name of al qaeda was nationally known as 9/11, because of the day it occurred [september 11, 2001]. 9/11 was a series of four coordinated attacks performed by the terrorist group al-qaeda targeting the world wide trade center. these attacks left almost 3,000 dead and double the number injured or wounded as well as 10 billion dollars of  damage with 3 trillion dollars collateral. the orchestration of the attacks left one individual to blame, that man was osama bin laden with the help of a few associates. to this day family member of the deceased mourn the death of their husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, and siblings due to the disaster that occurred many years ago. 9/11 has become a day of remembrance nationwide for more than a decade and a half and a moment of silence is taken on the anniversary of that day to honor the fallen. As a prevention of another attack many states have improved their security and emergency forces to protect against terrorism.
