Emergency Medical Technician
Emergency Medical technicians are clinicians, trained to respond quickly to emergency situations regarding medical issues, traumatic injuries and accident scenes. Under the British system and those that are influenced by it, they are referred to as ambulance technicians. EMTS or Emergency medical technicians are not employed by the hospitals but by the fire departments and government.
Emergency Medical Technicians are trained over the span of 4 years not including alternative training sought by other countries.
An E.M.T’s salary varies
The median annual Emergency Medical Technician salary is $32,951, as of August 29, 2016, with a range usually between $29,697-$37,780, however this can vary widely depending on a variety of factors.
