Glasgow states that supposedly life  like football can’t function or has no meaning without goalposts because ultimately there is no purpose but there is still the goal of reaching the end zone, which gives you more points than a field goal so basically you could still go far if there isn’t any goal posts but nice try on attempting to make a meaningful quote it just didn’t hold out for very long you know logic wise. Maybe football was not the best metaphor.

For example a criminal who is in prison has obviously a felon so he is not really living because he is stuck in a building of punishment for the a great portion of his days. But lets say a person has done good for their entire life, they’ve went to school they’ve done the right thing and they win the nobel prize by going to college getting a job and using the money for extreme amounts of charity then that person is living.
